New Start is able to deliver the full suite of safety services to fit your organisation’s needs through their highly qualified and experienced Fire and Safety Health and Safety Manager.

Fire safety training.
We also offer Health and Safety training.
Either an IOSH Licenced Managing or Working Safely course, or an internally accredited course endorsed by New Start.
The service was developed to fulfil the needs of landlords, and others, to comply with their legal obligations with regards to fire and health and safety law, and mandatory training requirements.
New Start can deliver a complete joined up solution by providing all of these services without the need to source these skills from different providers. All the services will be delivered by the health and fire safety manager whose experience and qualifications are shown below.
Experience and Qualifications of our Health and Fire Safety Manager
- Diploma in Safety Health and Environmental Management
- Chartered Member of the Institution of Occupational Safety and Health since January 2007
- NEBOSH General Certificate Health and Safety Experience
- Senior Officer Merseyside Fire and Rescue Service (30 years’ experience).
- Health and Safety manager of NHS Treatment Centre from May 2007 to March 2010
- Health and safety consultancy work from May 2005 after retiring from Merseyside Fire Service. This included assessments for Media City Salford, and Jane Lewis Health Care Chester.
Fire Qualifications - Graduate of the Institute of Fire Engineers Fire Safety Experience. An approved Fire Risk Assessor with accreditation through the Institution of Fire Engineers (IFE). Included in the IFE list of approved fire risk assessors. Consultant Fire risk assessor with clients including;
Knowsley Housing Trust; QVC; EDF; Travelodge and Media City. Conducted initial Fire Risk assessments on a large number of residential care premises throughout the North West.
- Training Qualifications City & Guilds 7407 Level 4 Cert Stage 1
- Training Experience Principle tutor for Merseyside Fire and Rescuer Service to deliver NEBOSH Certificate in Fire Safety and Risk Management.
- Licensed IOSH Course trainer to deliver Managing and Working Safely Courses; this course has been delivered to -Merseyside Fire and Rescue Service. I have delivered 30 of these courses to this organisation since 2009.
- Media City Salford
- Unite the Union at their London headquarters and Icopal in Stretford Manchester.
- Delivered bespoke training to Cereal Partners UK on dynamic risk assessment and Serious Accident Investigation training to ‘Local Solutions’ social enterprise Liverpool.
- Delivered fire warden training to Knowsley Housing Trust staff.
