Through Liverpool Heartbeat, New Start have access to a lot of great causes and charity events. This year a number of New Start employees took part in two 10k races just six days apart. First up was the BTR Mersey Tunnel 10k which took place on 7th June. This year was the 10th anniversary of the annual event. The race started in Liverpool and traveled through the Wallasey Tunnel finishing at Ian Fraser Walk, New Brighton.
The second race which took place on 13th June was the Brett Jones Heavyweight Memorial 10k. Brett was a Wirral born boxer who excelled at county level and coached hundreds of children and young people throughout his life. After a short battle with pancreatic cancer, Brett tragically passed away in February 2014 aged just 56. All proceeds were raised to support Pancreatic Cancer Research Fund
Well done to everyone involved!
